Well we made it to Moline late Wednesday Night/early Thursday Morning around 1 AM, not really the worse for wear. The delays were all at Chicago, which fortunately meant we spent most of our time waiting in Pittsburgh, which has both internet and good food.
As usual our one checked bag did not make it with us. It apparently decided to wander around O'hare on its own accord for a bit while we had a reasonable just over an hour to make a connection. It finally arrived in Moline yesterday around lunch, we had everything critical in carry-ons so no big deal.
We went to midnight mass last night. I still remember all the bits of mass, I also still really can't stand incense, especially if they're is an expectation to sing. Also, I swear some of the wording in the mass has changed since I was younger to make it less inclusive.
Additionally, if I h ave to sit through one more round of grilling about my life from my grandfather I will scream.
And Keira, if you read this, I told him no I would not just start dating you again for the money.
Oh the many joys of the holidays(did I mention 32 degree rain?)

We are stuck at the airport as usual. The weather is sucky in Chicago. Therefore we do not yet have a plane in Pittsburgh. Our flight from Pit to Chi is delayed and therefore we may potentially miss our connection in Chi to Moline Il, which may or may not be delayed. If we miss our connection we get to spend the night at O'Hare, joy of joys, and hopefully get out of there first thing tomorrow morning.
All of this leads me to wonder why must so many airports hubs be so sucky weather wise? Also as usual flying from Pittsburgh makes me annoyed that it is not an airline hub, as it is so perfectly designed as one.

Does anyone out there know how to unlink a deleted(permanently disabled) youtube account from my google profile, such that I could link a new one to it?

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
Now after having been thoroughly excoriated by Roe, I must temporarily cease my shelving and cleaning and instead must make cookies and join her and her mother for dinner. Oh, the suffering I must endure :) .

I went out on a mission tonight immediately after work to go to Ikea and buy some shelving. Now not having a car I planned on doing everything by bus and knowing that bookshelves are big and heavy I grabbed one of my office's hand dolly thingy(you know the kind that has two wheels and you have to lean it back to move stuff around on it) Well the trip out there was uneventful, got in to Ikea found the Expedit shelving and the little boxes that fit neatly into it. Then began the tricky part because I really needed two(2) of these

and well each one I can sort of just barely pick up(side note next time I move I will be hiring movers) I got two of them balanced neatly on the dolly and balancing the little box thingies on top. I check out and can fit two of the little boxes into my bag but the other two I kind of had to hold and as I'm walking toward the exit I think you know maybe this is a little precarious so I go over to the customer service desk and ask if I could use some packing tape. I tape the the remaining two little boxes together and put a loop of tape between the shelving boxes with the goal of keeping the two boxes from sliding against each other not wanting to tape them together completely as I wouldn't be able to lift them.
Satisfied that I had done all that I could do I exited the store and who do I hear and soon see walking towards me
hildakrista and her family. After saying hi the first words out of her mouth were we can't fit that in our car. I am fairly certain I didn't imply that I was expecting her to, but I was very grateful for the sentiment. After assuring her that I could get everything home okay she ended up bringing home a couple of the little boxes for me. As she headed into the store she suggested that I tie together the boxes with string. I was certain that I would be okay and thanked her for getting the extra boxes for me.
Just as I started moving the dolly again the tape completely failed to work so I ended up using the string anyways, so
hildakrista you were right, and it ended up coming in handy the whole way home.
The way home involved two buses, very accommodating and friendly bus drivers, and the handicapped ramps on said buses. I think you can picture the rest. It also involved a lot of arm strength keeping the bookshelves from squashing my fellow passengers. All in all, I now feel like I can do almost anything by bus.
The shelves are finally up in my third floor apartment and tomorrow they will be assembled!

that really is all, it is touchy, does inexplicable things, and I can't prove that this happened at a point in the process that wasn't my fault. Granted it might in fact be my fault for not checking at enough points in the process. But, really should I be expecting text to randomly disappear when making pdfs and just as importantly its disappearance not be noticeable with a quick scan through of the file on my screen,

I'm at Pittsburgh airport through security ready to go at 5:30 am. I was up at 3 and out of my apt. at 3:45. Interesting note, Pittsburgh's airport normally has free wifi, but with google's sponsorship it's free this year at the holiday's, but google attempted to get me to agree to adding some of their programs to my computer; let me be clear it was by no means mandatory, but what happened to 'don't be evil' ?

Just found out my grandfather died. I want to talk about it, but not with my coworkers. I can't take today off work because I need to go to Boston for the funeral. This is the first time one of my close relatives has died and I just feel a pit in my stomach. I think right now mostly I want a hug and a good cry. Back to work...

You are The Lovers
Motive, power, and action, arising from Inspiration and Impulse.
The Lovers represents intuition and inspiration. Very often a choice needs to be made.
Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love follows in this sequence of growth and maturity. And, coming after the Emperor, who is about control, it is a radical change in perspective. LOVE is a force that makes you choose and decide for reasons you often can't understand; it makes you surrender control to a higher power. And that is what this card is all about. Finding something or someone who is so much a part of yourself, so perfectly attuned to you and you to them, that you cannot, dare not resist. This card indicates that the you have or will come across a person, career, challenge or thing that you will fall in love with. You will know instinctively that you must have this, even if it means diverging from your chosen path. No matter the difficulties, without it you will never be complete.
What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

I had a wonderful time and am still feeling what I can only describe as Pennsic induced endorphins, I'm not in the mood for details, suffice to say I think this will be a fun war.

Hmmm, I now have precisely two weekends before Pennsic and am right on the edge of saying I procrastinated too long to have a pavillion this year.
So now I am left with several options:
work my butt off until pennsic and hope that everything works on my intended pavillion plan, (definitely won't get to the paint job)
work slightly less hard and make some more garb from fabric that's been lying around for a while, (who doesn't need more pants?)
work at the rate I have been, ie nearly not working, (hey I survived last pennsic)

My friends are so incredibly awesome; thank you again so much to all who came and especially to those who got me "the best present evars™". I now must endeavor to use this membership to the pittsburgh glass center to it's fullest extent. I cannot express in words the gratitude that I feel right now. I feel the equivalent of building a gothic chapel in your honor. Thank you all so much, my life would be so empty without you.

Edit: I bought a ticket for myself to the 9:30 Show, depending on work I may stop at the Hofbrauhaus for a beer before hand.

so I had just finished watching fringe on Hulu and I wanted to know if the penguins had won or not, so I typed - penguins score - no quotes or anything into the google box and top item was the final score with the score per period and overtime was there, not on a website that I needed to click through to, not in the description of the top web site, just there.
Google is getting kind of scary good.
Soon I'm going to be able to type in how am I feeling and it'll know(granted probably by extrapolating from lj posts, twitter posts, the time of day, recent current events, what websites I have visited recently, etc.) still it's coming.
